Terms of use

Version 1.1. Effective from October 6, 2026.

This is an English translation of the Russian original. In case of any discrepancy, the Russian version prevails (clause 1.4).

1. General provisions

1.1. This User Agreement (the “Agreement”) governs the relationship between the administration of the online directory Makersew (the “Operator”, the “Administration”), available at https://makersew.com (the “Service”), and the individuals and legal entities using the Service (the “Users”).

1.2. A User accepts the Agreement by ticking the consent box when signing up, submitting a request or adding a company. The Service records the date, time and version of the Agreement accepted by the User. Viewing the public pages of the Service without signing up also means acceptance of the Agreement as far as sections 3, 5, 6 and 9 are concerned.

1.3. The Administration may amend the Agreement. A new version is published at https://makersew.com/terms with its effective date; previous versions are provided on request at hello@makersew.com. Material changes are published at least 14 days before they take effect (as with the Privacy Policy); registered Users are notified by email. Continued use of the Service after a version takes effect means acceptance of it; a User who disagrees stops using the Service and may delete their account.

1.4. The Agreement is drawn up in Russian. Translations are provided for convenience; in case of discrepancies the Russian version prevails.

1.5. The Service is intended for businesses and organisations. By creating an account or submitting a request, the User confirms that they are at least 18 years old and act on their own behalf or on behalf of the Company they represent.

2. Definitions

  • Directory — the set of Company listings published on the Service and the sections they are grouped by (products, production supplies, services).
  • Company — a party with a listing in the Directory: a sewing manufacturer (workshop, factory, atelier), a supplier of fabrics, trims, equipment or other production supplies, a service provider (pattern making, embroidery, printing, equipment repair, logistics, etc.), a clothing brand or an individual specialist. A Company may combine several roles.
  • Listing — a Company’s page in the Directory.
  • Client — a User looking for a Company in the Directory to order the manufacturing of products, buy production supplies or obtain services. A Company listed in the Directory may also act as a Client (for example, a brand ordering production from a manufacturer).
  • Company Content — names, descriptions, contacts, photos, videos and other data placed in Listings.

3. The Service

3.1. The Service provides Users with an informational directory of light industry Companies in Central Asia: manufacturers, suppliers, service providers and brands. The Service is not:

  • a party to deals between Clients and Companies;
  • a payment intermediary;
  • a guarantor of the quality of Companies’ goods and services;
  • a participant in the sewing or manufacturing process.

3.2. The Service is not responsible for:

  • the accuracy of information a Company provides about itself;
  • the quality of goods and services provided by Companies to Clients;
  • the outcome of negotiations, deals or disputes between Clients and Companies;
  • the inability to reach a Company via the listed contacts;
  • Users’ lost profits.

3.3. A listing in the Directory is not advertising of a particular Company by the Operator and implies no guarantee of its reliability.

4. Listing rules and accounts

4.1. Companies may be listed in the Directory:

  • on the initiative of the Company’s owner (“self-listing”);
  • by the Administration based on public sources (Instagram, 2GIS, public websites, etc.).

4.2. When a listing is based on public sources:

  • the Administration limits the published data to what the Company has already made public;
  • the Company’s owner may request a change or removal of the listing at any time — see section 7.

4.3. A Company owner who submits a listing request confirms that they:

  • are an authorised representative of the Company;
  • have the right to publish all submitted data (name, logo, photos);
  • agree to the publication of the submitted data in the Directory.

4.4. An account is created for the User’s email address. The User provides accurate data, keeps it up to date and is responsible for keeping the password safe and for all actions taken through the account. The User reports unauthorised access to the Operator without delay.

4.5. To confirm the right to manage a Listing or to grant the “Verified” badge, the Operator may request documents or confirmation by one of the methods in clause 7.2. Until confirmed, a Listing may remain under review or unpublished.

4.6. The Operator reviews new Listings and edits before or after publication and may postpone publication, hide a Listing or part of its content, correct obvious errors (typos, contact format, Directory section) and, in case of a breach of the Agreement, block the account. The User is notified of a hidden Listing or a blocked account by the account email with the reason, except where notification is prohibited by law or obviously pointless (spam, forgery).

4.7. The User may unpublish their Listing, delete the Listing or the account in the account area at any time (procedure and consequences — Privacy Policy, section 8.1).

5. Rules for Clients

5.1. Clients use the information in the Directory at their own risk. The Administration recommends:

  • checking a Company further through public registries of its country of registration (for example, kgd.gov.kz in Kazakhstan);
  • starting with small test orders;
  • signing written contracts with Companies.

5.2. Directory data is open for finding manufacturers and suppliers, including by automated means. A User who collects Directory data is solely responsible for its further processing under the Law of the Republic of Kazakhstan “On Personal Data and Their Protection” and the laws of the country of use; the Operator is not a personal data provider for such a User and is not responsible for their actions.

5.3. Users must not:

  • use Directory data for unsolicited bulk mailings, advertising of third-party services disguised as a Client’s enquiry, fraud or other actions violating the law or the rights of Companies;
  • impersonate another person or Company, create Listings for Companies they are not authorised to represent, or submit false requests to remove or change other Companies’ Listings;
  • place in Listings, requests or materials content that violates the law or third-party rights, including other people’s photos and logos, or content unrelated to the Company’s business;
  • attempt to access other accounts, internal sections or the Service’s infrastructure, bypass form checks and rate limits, or create excessive load that disrupts the Service for other Users; automated collection of open data at a reasonable pace is not prohibited by this clause (clause 5.2).

The Operator may restrict access to the Service, hide content and block the offender’s account (clause 4.6).

5.4. Paid and free features of the Service may change as the project develops. The Operator gives notice as set out in clause 1.3; services already paid for are provided on the terms in force at the time of payment.

5.5. On request, the Operator may provide an export of Directory data in CSV or Excel format limited to the public fields of Listings. The terms, scope and price of an export are set by a separate agreement; the Operator may refuse without giving reasons. The recipient of an export is bound by clauses 5.2 and 5.3.

6. Intellectual property

6.1. Companies’ names, logos, photos and videos belong to their owners. Listing in the Directory does not transfer exclusive rights to the Operator.

6.2. By placing Company Content, the User grants the Operator a royalty-free, non-exclusive, worldwide licence for as long as the Listing is published: to display the Content in the Directory, process it technically (resize, compress, make thumbnails and link preview images), translate texts into the Service’s languages, and use the Company’s photos and name in Directory announcements (for example, a “new company in the directory” post in the Service’s channels and social media) with a link to the Listing. The licence ends when the Listing is deleted; announcements already published and backups are removed within the periods stated in the Privacy Policy. Any other use of the Content, including advertising of third-party services, requires the owner’s separate consent.

6.3. The User warrants that they are entitled to place the submitted Content and reimburses the Operator for documented losses arising from justified third-party claims caused by a breach of this warranty (for example, other people’s photos in a Listing). The Operator notifies the User of such a claim and gives them the opportunity to settle it.

6.4. The design, code and texts of the Service itself (including editorial articles in the “Guides” section) belong to the Operator. Copying without permission is prohibited; quoting with attribution and a link is allowed.

6.5. The Service may contain links to third-party websites and services (Company websites, messengers, maps, registries). The Operator is not responsible for their content or operation.

7. Changing and removing a Company listing

7.1. A Company owner may request a change or removal of the listing at any time by contacting us:

7.2. To prevent abuse (competitors trying to remove someone else’s listing), the Operator may ask for proof of ownership of the Company, for example:

  • an email from the Company’s corporate domain;
  • a messenger message, a call or an SMS from the number shown on the Listing;
  • a message from the Company’s account on a social network or another platform the Listing data was taken from, or from a contact the Company lists on its own website, in 2GIS, Google Maps, Instagram, Telegram or other public services and directories;
  • a document confirming authority (for example, a registration certificate or a power of attorney) if none of the channels above is available.

The Operator decides which method of confirmation is sufficient; a request from a channel that cannot be linked to the Company may be declined.

7.3. Once ownership is confirmed, the request is handled within 24 hours. The statutory period under Law No. 94-V of the Republic of Kazakhstan is up to 30 days.

8. Personal data

8.1. Personal data is processed as described in the Privacy Policy available at https://makersew.com/privacy.

9. Limitation of liability

9.1. The Service is provided “as is”. The Administration does not guarantee:

  • uninterrupted operation of the Service;
  • the absence of errors or inaccuracies in the information;
  • that the Service meets the expectations of a particular User.

9.2. For free use of the Service, the Operator bears no financial liability towards the User, except where such liability is expressly established by law and cannot be excluded by agreement. For paid services, the Operator’s liability is limited to the amount paid by the User for the respective service in the last 12 months.

9.3. The limitations in sections 3 and 9 do not apply to liability for an intentional breach of obligations by the Operator or in other cases where the law does not allow liability to be limited.

10. Notifications and mailings

10.1. The Operator sends service messages to the account email or the contact given in a request: confirmation of sign-up and email change, notifications about review and publication of a Listing, about Clients’ requests, about a hidden Listing, about changes to the Agreement and the Policy. Service messages cannot be opted out of while an account or an open request exists.

10.2. Informational and promotional emails (Service news, offers) are sent only with the User’s consent. Consent is given by a separate checkbox at sign-up, in a request or in the account; it is unchecked by default. Consent can be withdrawn via the link in an email or in the account. Invitations to join the Directory are sent once, with an opt-out, to Company owners whose contacts they have published in open sources.

10.3. The main channel for contacting the Operator is email, hello@makersew.com; a message is deemed received on the business day it is sent. The Operator may reply from any address or account listed in section 12 or in the Service’s contacts block (including Telegram and other messengers), and such replies have the same effect as an email from the main address.

11. Governing law, disputes and other terms

11.1. This Agreement is governed by the laws of the Republic of Kazakhstan.

11.2. A claim is sent to the Operator at hello@makersew.com; the response period is 15 business days. Disputes not resolved through the claim procedure are heard by the court at the Operator’s location, unless the law provides a different jurisdiction for a consumer User.

11.3. If any provision of the Agreement is held invalid, the remaining provisions stay in force and the invalid one is replaced by the closest permissible provision.

11.4. The Operator’s failure to enforce a provision of the Agreement in one case does not waive the right to enforce it later.

11.5. The Operator may transfer its rights and obligations under the Agreement to the party taking over the Service (for example, upon registration of a sole proprietorship or a legal entity), with notice to Users as set out in clause 1.3; obligations towards Users remain in force.
